Medical referral values for hypertension will include a resting systolic blood pressure greater than or equal to 160, and a resting diastolic blood pressure that is greater than or equal to 100. For individuals with higher hypertension, it is recommended to perform workouts with at least twelve repetitions in a resistance training program. Moreover, it is recommended that folks who suffer from high blood pressure not train above the 70% range of their 1 rep max (RM).
