Quick Health Tip – Not All Calories Are Created Equal: The Biology of Who Eats It

All calories are not created equal. Trust us, although it is sometimes easier to say, “a calorie is a calorie by any other name”, the consumption of said calorie can make a difference. Consumption here is the key. More specifically, the relativity of the individual who consumes it. Just remember, that our bodies for a fact are different. With that genetics, metabolisms, intestinal length, bacteria production, and enzyme levels all play into how we expend calories by the thermic effect (or the calories we expend by just eating). A pizza for someone can come out to be less in calories after digestion, vs another.
