Psychological factors could attribute to obstacles. For the most part, people find pleasure in eating. And for the most part, people find pleasure in eating high calorie foods. And our appetite (the psychological mechanism that represents our desire to eat based on the presence of hunger) if not controlled, can lead to over consumption of food. We psychologically adopt eating behaviors and patterns. For instance, people usually consume popcorn in movies or do not leave food on the plate because we were either raised or taught that way. Emotional eating is also a psychological obstacle, because over consumption can be brought by boredom, depression, or celebratory jubilation.
