Saturated fats are typically found in animal food sources. They can be considered a risk factor for cardiovascular disease because it can increase LDL cholesterol and plaque accumulation in arteries. However, the right diet choices with moderate levels of saturated fats can lower the risk. So, don’t confuse saturated fats with trans-fat. The recommended level or tolerable limit for saturated fats should be no more than 10%.
