Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a type of venous thromboembolism (you can refer to the article here), where there is a clot in a deep vein. This will usually happen in the leg, but can be affected in the arm and the other veins. There is another type of VTE being Pulmonary embolism (PE), where PE is more preventable than DVT.
