I look down
And it was us Just us, holding hands And then I lost myself At that moment I was able to defy science I looked up and everything that surrounded your angelic face Was a numbing blur An ephemeral passing of light and matter And you stood there in front of me Transcendent and translucent I began to look at how slowly The delicate features of your face moved To make a smile that was so stimulating That it lifted me from my being, defying gravity You make me a better man And then in the corner of my eye I saw how your hair moved Each individual strand flowing As it ran like waves Delicately crashing ashore Rippling through my soul You make me a better man You then took your other hand and placed your hair behind your ear And I then whispered how I loved you How you can make a once emotionless man, tear And then they perked Your ears Just making you that much more perfect In that standstill in time You make me a better man And then you conquered my heart Once again Those gentle eyes, spellbinding Taking my despair, and shining hope So soft and so subtle, so everlastingly memorized That it powers and pierces my heart You make me a better man Not noticing I tell you I love you and because of you I tell you that I am a man that can stop time Defy gravity And do the impossible You make me a better man I then tuned back life Everything was back to normal And as I looked down It was us Just us, holding hands Bounded, unconditionally Natural in its course
