Audit Independence Part II

In a financial statement​ audit:

1. Auditor must have a thorough understanding of the business, industry, and environment.
2. Auditors gather evidence to determine whether the statements contain material errors or misstatements.
3. Auditors determine whether the financial statements are stated in accordance with specified criteria (i.e. GAAP).
