Non-sampling risk is the risk that an auditor reaches the wrong conclusion for any reason other than sampling risk. An example of non-sampling risk is the risk that the auditor may perform procedures incorrectly. To reduce non-sampling risk, the auditor can follow auditing standards related to audit procedures, proper instruction, supervision, and review of audit work. One of the causes of non-sampling risk is ineffective audit procedures.
