What exactly are the implications of having abs, more specifically in relation to being healthy.
More often than not, a person who shows abs are more likely to be healthy and indicate a healthy human being. However, it is also true to say that it is FALSE to assume that abs will ALWAYS indicate that the person is healthy. So, before diving into it briefly:
Essentially having abs means a low body fat percentage and a strong core. But you cannot determine functional fitness directly from abs. Which also means, you don't need abs to be healthy. Also, genetics again play a big role, and you cannot really determine someone's eating habits or gym commitment. But again, more likely than not, the odds for a person who has abs being healthy, eating a healthy diet, and having a strong commitment to the gym is higher than not.
