There are 46 essential nutrients which we are recommended for current intake guidelines. This includes the 9 essential amino acids, 2 fatty acids, 14 minerals, 13 vitamins, and 4 ultra-trace elements. Essential amino acids cannot be synthesized by the human organism and is then “essential” to supply it via your diet. Fun fact, this can also be called an indispensable amino acid. Same principle applies. Ultra-trace typically refers to an element that typically makes up less than one microgram for an organism, which means 1 million micrograms will make up one gram.
