We have already talked about setting realistic goals.
Basically, know what you are capable of. And knowing your initial capabilities will allow you to set realistic goals. Essentially, you will allow yourself to set clear expectations. But to set realistic goals, you need to know what your initial goal is, or want you want it to be. Moreover, what is the goal that fits your ideal purpose or situation. Often times, you need to be honest with yourself on not only what is realistic, but what is that you want. Is it an ideal body, by you defining what "ideal" is? Is it general health improvement? Is is a functional fitness improvement? All because you know the WHY to you wanting to embrace a fitness journey. Know your goals is as important as setting realistic goals.
