Adaptogens are natural substances, which help regulate hormones. Essentially, they help "adapt" the body and brings it back to balance, more specifically associated with stress. If stress levels are too high, adaptogens help lower them; and if they are too low, they help raise them. There is good stress that we need as humans, known as eustress. For example, some of the most powerful adaptogens, and are widely recognized as such, includes ginseng, basil, milk thistle, and rhodiola (just to name a few).
