We are strong believers in autoregulatory exercise, during specific times of the year. It essentially means, you allow your body to tell you what you can lift in terms of weight, and determine the starting and end points contingent on the “need” for recovery and “potential” for growth.
Let us say you are feeling weaker one week, which means you change your day-to-day or week-to-week starting point lower and build up. And if your body is feeling stronger, you will then “regulate” and increase your starting point. Studies have shown that it can increase your body mass and the 1RM (Rep Max). We do prefer routine, but when we say we are believers in autoregulatory exercise, it means we believe that it is ok to sometimes adjust to what your body is “telling you”.
