We know the many connections to stress and the deleterious effects it can have on our body. For instance, the Cortisol Effect. But to simplify it, stress reduces the “perceived strength” in our activity during a workout, and then through recovery. There have been studies to show that an increase in stress reduces recovery functions and slows muscle growth. Whether that is a loss in concentration during times of high stress or your body shooting cortisol levels to protect itself, either way, do not stress it. You will be in better shape if you “chillax” as our society colloquially put it
