It is ok to eat a moderate level of saturated fats. More than ok, when combined with intensive training programs. But try to avoid trans fatty acids whenever possible. They do not possess nutritional benefits and poses an absolute risk factor for cardiovascular diseases. Trans fatty acids significantly elevate LDL cholesterol and even reduces the good HDL cholesterol. And, when foods increase the melting point for fat (which means the temperature to melt the fat) to extend shelf life, then you should think twice before ingesting and digesting.
