Resting Metabolic Rate refers to the energy required to maintain homeostasis. Essentially, the energy to maintain normal body functions. And studies have shown that the percentage of daily energy requirements approximates between sixty and seventy-five percent. Of that, most of the energy are for organ functions and then followed by muscle functions. And this makes up most of the total energy expenditures, while the other implications are physical activity, and then the thermic effect of food.
